Human Behaviour (Essay Sample) Content: Human BehaviorNameInstitutionAccording to Motivational and inspiring short stories (2013), a daughter always complained to her father that she was going through many problems, such that whenever she could find a solution to the problem at hand another problem could follow. She led a miserable life and never knew what could become of her. She told her father that she was tired of fighting with lifeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s problems. Her father took her to the kitchen and made her sit down. He took three pots, filled them with water, and placed them on fire. He then took eggs, grounded coffee beans and potatoes, put each in one of the pots, and left them to boil for twenty minutes. He turned the fire out and poured the coffee beans in a cup, placed the eggs and potatoes in different bowls. He told her daughter to move closer, touch and see what each has become of each. All the three had been exposed through the same situation but, each turned out to something different. The egg had c hanged from fragile to hard, potatoes hard to soft, and the coffee beans turned out to be unique by changing the water into something new. He asked the daughter what she could have liked to be among the three. He then encouraged his daughter to behave like the coffee beans in times of adversity by telling her that life exposes us to many situations. Many things may happen to us or around us but, what matters is what happens within us. She learns a lesson that transformed her and always persevered through the hardships in life.Individuals are always exposed to situations that make them undergo a transformative experience. This makes them have an innate tendency of tackling every situation despite the challenges involved. One must always know his or her set goals to avoid deviating from them during the transformation experience. An individualà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s goals act as a motivation that keeps him or her persevere the situations. In the transformation process, the educator may prefer to give his or her own perception about a certain issue but, in some special circumstances it may not seem advisable since it tends to confine the individual into the educatorà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s thinking. From the story, the father preferred his daughter to be like the "coffee beans" meaning that the adversities should change her into something better.Human behavior is a collective term that is subjective to emotions, persuasion, ethics, attitude, culture among other factors. Some may be strange others may be normal while some may be quite abnormal. Various factors influence the behavior of human beings either positively or negatively. ( Pugh and Bergin 2006). When one is exposed to appropriate factors, he or she is will react appropriately to the current situation or later. This is because of transformation in character, which makes an individual competent to handle the future situations.Educators in the transformation process do not decide the direction, which individuals take but only faci litate to make sure they make applicable decisions. They also tend to wiser and in most cases elder than person undergoing the process of transformation. The daughterà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s father is older, wiser as compared to the daughter, and able to facilitate the transformation process the daughter is undergoing. The process also helps us learn to view things or situations in different ways other than being confined to one way of seeing things. It occurs in two levels, which are the conscious and unconscious level (Boyd, 1991). At the conscious level, one knows the way forward, while the unconscious level develops a character that makes one believe that he can make it in toughest situations. The daughter in the story gets to learn that even though one may be exposed lifeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s hardships, there is always a way out and instead of complaining she will try to find a way out.Furthermore, motivated behavior leads to a character that makes one make independent decisions regardless of the c ircumstance knowing that there is away forward. Human behavior has three elements arousal, persistence and direction. Motivation can be negative depending on the driving force (Cranton,1994). Hence, one should know the urge behind every motivation. Learning is related with motivation and so the instructors should app...
